Saturday: morning runs, eating leftover pastelitos. Fighting with my sisters over the mirror. Apple orchards and string lights, a small lake across the field. Making faces during the vows, giggling throughout the mass. Drinking soda outside of church, the flower girls white dresses stained. running barefoot in the grass, not putting my shoes back on until the end of the night. The groomsmen watching the Madrid game on cell phones, almost missing my entrance during the penalties. Stealing the flower girls crowns, catching the bouquet- anasofia, ¿quien es tu novio?

Sunday: las nenas crawling on the couch, half asleep. My aunts and uncles drinking Cuban coffee. Playing outdoors under the promise of a tropical storm. Cheering at the new bride, eating barbecue and playing croquet. The first of seven married. My sisters and cousins stay outside long after everyone is in. Giving presents, saying goodbye. Driving at midnight in a crowded car. Laughing so hard I gave myself a headache.
